Biography
Craig Burgess, Columbus State University's first General Counsel, joined CSU in June 2016. Burgess was General Counsel of South Carolina State University immediately prior to CSU, providing counsel to the land-grant HBCU as it endured numerous regulatory and accreditation challenges, as well as spearheading SCSU's response to several state and federal investigations. Licensed in Georgia and South Carolina, Burgess is a seasoned trial attorney with more than 40 trials as first-chair counsel in federal and state courts. His more than 25 years of legal experience includes his tenure as an Associate and Partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLC in Charleston, South Carolina and Senior Litigation Counsel for BellSouth and AT&T in Atlanta, Georgia.

Biography
Whitley Hall joined CSU in May 2022 as the Assistant General Counsel. Hall attended the University of Alabama for her undergraduate degree. She later attended the University of Arkansas where she received both a Juris Doctor as well as her Masters in Public Administration. Hall is a seasoned attorney. She worked as a staff attorney for Legal Services Alabama and the Alabama Supreme Court and most recently at Auburn University, where she investigated Title IX and Equal Employment Opportunity complaints. She is an Alabama native and resident. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son.

Biography
Takeia Mosala serves as the Office of Legal Affairs, Ethics, and Compliance’s first
Legal Assistant. Before joining the OLEAC team in 2021, Mosala served as an Administrative
Assistant for CSU’s School of Nursing, bringing with her over ten years of higher
education experience to her current role with the Legal Affairs office. Takeia Mosala
is a former United States Army Reservist and Veteran. She has more than 20 years of
Administrative Professional experience in her field, previously working for prominent
local organizations such as AFLAC and TSYS. Mosala graduated from Columbus State University,
holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies.
Mrs. Mosala is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Communication Management
with a focus on Media at Valdosta State University.

Biography
Nicol C. Lewis is the Chief Information Security Officer for Columbus State University. Her role is to ensures that all the university’s academic and operational data is protected and made accessible within the bounds of CSU and USG information security policies. She joined CSU in May 2021. Her 20-year career in information technology has included progressive duties in data security and cybersecurity, enterprise-wide IT risk management and compliance, and business continuity. In addition to her previous role as the CISO for the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, she has held similar positions with both the Georgia Technology Authority and Georgia Public Library Service. Her education and training background include being a Certified Chief Information Security Officer (EC-Council), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (ISACA), and a Georgia Cybersecurity Academy Graduate.

Biography
Loretta Marshall served as the Interim Chief Information Security Officer for 2019 and 2020. Prior to that, she was Information Security Administrator and worked with the Chief Information Security Officer in establishing the Cybersecurity structure for Columbus State University. For the past several years she has coordinated Cybersecurity Awareness Training and promoted annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities. She served as the coordinator for the Information Security Governance Committee. She is the current president of the Columbus chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA).

Biography
Ric Barrow is the first full-time Director of Risk Management for Columbus State University. He joined in 2015, and was under the Vice President of Business and Finance; and he has recently been added to the General Counsel's team. He was born and raised in Columbus, GA, graduating from Columbus High in 2005; Columbus State with a BBA in Marketing in 2009; and his Juris Doctorate at Faulkner University in 2012. While at Faulker he was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, held a 3L practice card in which he was counsel for multiple cases for the Family Violence Clinic, and he was honored as a Public Interest Fellow after completing the required Pro-Bono work. He lives in Columbus now with his wife Laura Beth Barrow and their daughters, Wren and Hattie.
