Dr. Rayfield presented USG strategic plan
Committee discussed timeline
Subcommittees were formed: one to review the previous plan and one to conduct a SWOT process for the current plan
Microsoft Team was set up for the committee
Requested committee review current CSU mission, vision, values
Requested committee review the USG strategic plan - specifically the 4 goals laid out by USG of which all 26 institutions will be measured against
Requested committee review previous SWOT data collected in 2012 and 2016 in preparation for collecting SWOT data for 2023

Committee reviewed USG's strategic planning goals for 2024 - 2029
Committee reviewed CSU's current mission/vision/values and began discussing possible edits
Dr. Robin Snipes previewed the SWOT survey that will go out to all stakeholders (faculty/staff/students/alumni/community members), the committee made suggestions for edits
Committee's homework was to continue to review and provide feedback on SWOT survey with the hope of having the completed survey ready to send out week of 10/30 and stakeholder response completion date of 11/17

Provided a brief SWOT update - 256 participants at the time of the meeting, mostly from the TCOBT
- Asked all present to push the SWOT survey information out to the groups they are representing and any others, with a personal appeal for them to participate
- An email requesting alumni participation in the SWOT survey went out today (11/7/23)
- A link to the SWOT survey will be added to CougarView tomorrow (11/8/23)
- An appeal to the business community, with a vested interest in CSU, went out yesterday (11/6/23)
- Reminders will go out to the campus community tomorrow (11/8/23) and again on 11/15/23
We broke into groups to discuss how CSU would define the 4 goals of: Student Sucess, Responsible Stewardship, Economic Competitiveness, & Community Impact
Dr. Yarber-Allen gave a brief update from the previous strategic plan subcommittee
- The update advised that due to amount of action items in the previous plan, lack of tracking data on those items, and our condensed timeline there is no real way for us to show data regarding progress made on that plan

Dr. Robin Snipes & Dr. Jennifer Pitts, of our SWOT Subcommittee, reviewed the preliminary SWOT results with the committee. We will share the SWOT results on this website once finalized. Final analysis of the open-ended feedback provided during the SWOT survey will be presented during our next meeting.

The following committee members reviewed and proposed edits to following areas of the strategic plan, the group discussed and adopted some changes:
- Nicol Lewis presented on reworked Values definitions
- Cliff Ruehl presented potential definitions for strategic priorities 1 & 2
- Jill Carroll presented potential definitions for strategic priorities 3 & 4
Committe Chair, Shana Young, meet with President Rayfield on the afternoon of 12/14/2023 to share progress of strategic plan, review work done

Committee reviewed and settled on values & their updated definitions
- Committee reviewed all 4 priorities, decided on their definitions, and began adding goals under each priority based on the data discovered during the SWOT analysis (PDF)

Subcommittees will present and make recommendations at next meeting
