University Police

Divisions

Patrol Division

 The Patrol Division of University Police consists of officers trained to protect and serve the CSU community. Operating year-round, 24 hours per day, the Patrol Division strives for ways to preserve CSU's campus as a safe environment for learning, living, and working.

Criminal Investigation Division

 The Criminal Investigation Division operates as a full-scale detective bureau, equipped to handle a wide variety of investigative tasks. CID officers are responsible for following up and investigating crimes reported to University Police, as well as numerous administrative tasks.

Training Division

The Training Division oversees field training for new officers, once they have completed the police academy. The Training Division staff also organizes inservice training for departmental personnel as well as additional police training outside the department for certified officers.

Communications

The Communications Unit of University Police serves the university community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, dispatching officers and others to police, fire, and medical calls for service. Other duties of the unit include emergency dispatch, responding to national and Georgia Crime Information Center inquiries, and telephone communications.
