Office of University Advancement

CSU Fund

The CSU Fund is the cornerstone of philanthropic support for CSU and provides opportunities for alumni and friends of CSU to make an immediate impact on students and the campus at large through charitable giving on an annual basis. Gifts through the CSU Fund are available for use in the current operating year. The demands placed on colleges and universities in the 21st century require more flexibility, creativity, and innovation than ever before; the CSU Fund is our source for critical funding to meet today's needs while preparing to rise above tomorrow's challenges. The CSU Fund supports:

  • Student scholarships
  • Academic programs
  • Community outreach
  • Student and faculty development
  • Opportunities for distinction

Alumni Giving:

The percentage of Columbus State alumni who give back annually, known as "alumni participation," is an important factor in how the University ranks among its peer institutions and how it is positioned in national rankings. By giving to the CSU Fund at any level, you help the University increase its alumni participation rate, which ultimately enhances student and faculty recruitment and ensures the University remains on the cutting edge in education. Alumni also designate their gift through the CSU Fund to their college or school of choice.

Friends Giving:

Whether you enjoy the performing arts, interesting lectures and seminars, or Cougar athletics, Columbus State University has a lot to offer. One of the roles of the Office of Development, including the CSU Fund, is to raise funds to support the academic initiatives of the university, establishing scholarships and fellowships; enhancing academic programs; and creating professorships and eminent scholar chairs. As a result, the university has been able to attract promising young scholars, propel its academic status, and appeal to the nation’s highly recognized educators.

Corporate Giving:

Columbus State University establishes relationships with corporations and other businesses to secure unrestricted gifts and the funding for projects of mutual interest through the CSU Fund. We work closely with corporate and foundation representatives, as well as college deans and faculty from across the university to ensure that top priorities are achieved.
