Administrative Fee

Columbus State University Foundation, Inc. (the "Foundation") is a 501(c) (3) corporation that utilizes an equitable fee structure to cover expenses essential to the Foundation’s overall operation. These fees were adopted by the Foundation Board of Trustees at their spring meeting on May 21, 2013.

The Foundation assesses an administrative fee of 5% on current and temporarily-restricted gifts. The Foundation also assesses an annual fee of 1% on the fair value of its endowment funds.

Administrative fees have become a fact of life on the educational fundraising landscape, particularly as the economy forces institutions to look for new revenue sources. In our own state, University of Georgia, Augusta University, Georgia Southern University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Middle Georgia State University, Valdosta State University and Kennesaw State University - among others - assess endowment and/or gift fees.

The University and the Foundation believe investing in building a stronger philanthropic community is vitally important for the future of Columbus State University.
