Latin American Studies
CSU's Latin American Studies Program was established in 1999 through a generous gift from Elena Diaz-Verson Amos of Columbus.
The purpose of the program is to expand international education opportunities for CSU students and enhance understanding between U.S. and Latino cultures. The cornerstone of the program is the Elena Diaz-Verson Amos Eminent Scholar in Latin American Studies. In this program, CSU brings in a visiting professor to teach and engage in outreach programming. In conjunction, the university also offers an Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies minor and Latin American Studies Certificate along with Latin America Study Abroad Programs and Elena Diaz-Verson Amos Study Abroad Scholarships.
