Biography

Jacob Holt is an Assistant Professor of Political Science. His research focuses on political parties in American legislatures. He has a paper in forthcoming in Party Politics that finds the sources of party unity are different for the two parties in the US House of Representatives. He had a paper published in January 2022 looking at midterm elections. He also published papers looking at committee assignments in legislatures around the world, the impacts of women in state legislatures, and which party benefits from independent expenditures by interest groups. Jacob Holt was a 2018-2019 American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow (the first in CSU's history) working in Representative Denny Heck's office. He was also a 2022 Urban Leaders fellow.
