Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music has occupied its new home – RiverCenter for the Performing Arts – since 2001. With three extraordinary concert venues, including the Heard Theatre and Legacy Hall, site of the school's spectacular Jordan Concert Organ, the facility is truly world-class. Becoming an All-Steinway school in 2008, the Schwob School now houses over 70 new Steinway pianos, including one of only two grand pianos in Georgia manufactured at the Steinway factory in Hamburg, Germany. The opportunity to practice and perform in RiverCenter, study in its music library and technology center, and rehearse in its practice rooms and studios, are all reasons the Schwob School is increasingly attracting top students from across the region and around the globe.

Legacy Hall

Legacy Hall is a beautiful, 450 seat state-of-the-art concert space that houses the stunning G. Gunby Jordan Pipe Organ, the finest instrument of its type in the Southeast. Faculty, student, and guest artist recitals are held here along with ensemble performances, all of which are streamed live.

Studio Theater

Studio Theater is a 185 seat multi-disciplinary hall where both staged works and contemporary music are performed regularly. It is a venue that presents cutting edge performances, leveraging technology that is sophisticated and run by students trained in our audio technology program.

Bill Heard Theater

Bill Heard Theater is a 2000 seat venue that serves as the home for the RiverCenter for the Arts, which brings in orchestra and theater productions from around the world. It hosts Schwob concerts and productions including opera and Kaleidoscope performances as well as residencies by ensembles such as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
