A Message from the Dean

Dear Students,

Welcome to the College of Education and Health Professions at Columbus State University! We’re thrilled that you’ve chosen to pursue your dreams with us. Within our three dynamic departments— the School of Nursing, Kinesiology and Health Science, and Teacher Education, Leadership, and Counseling— you’ll find a supportive environment dedicated to helping you build the skills and knowledge for your future career.

You’ll have opportunities to gain experience not only on campus but also in local schools, hospitals, health agencies, and more. For our nursing students, that might mean working alongside experienced nurses and doctors in clinical settings. For others, it might involve collaborating with physical therapists, engaging with health departments, or gaining hands-on teaching experience in schools.

Additionally, our affiliated centers such as the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center, the Columbus Regional Math Collaborative, and the Professional Development Lab School support your learning journey and offer unique opportunities to deepen your experiences both in and beyond the classroom.
