Out-of-State Students

We are glad that you are interested in continuing your education at Columbus State University!

If you will be living outside of Georgia while taking classes, our ability to offer online programs or field experiences (internships, clinicals, student teaching, etc.) to you may be limited. We are not legally able to offer programs or courses if we are not able to meet the regulatory requirements for activity in the state where you will be physically located.

Columbus State University's programs leading to all levels of licensure, endorsement, and certification are designed to meet the requirements of the appropriate professional licensing boards in Georgia. The ability of our professional licensure programs to meet state educational requirements for licensure or certification may be limited in other states.

To find out whether Columbus State University is able to offer your program of interest in the state where you will be living, or if the program will meet state educational requirements for licensure or certification in your state, please visit our Program State Authorizations and Approvals page.

If you will be living internationally, or if you have questions related to state authorization contact the State Authorization office at state_authorization@columbusstate.edu.

The State Authorization office can only address questions related to state authorization or professional licensing board approval and licensure, for all other questions please contact the appropriate department:

  • Academic department - for general questions related to the program you are interested in
  • Admissions - for questions related to admissions requirements, deadlines, process, etc.
