Traveling To Columbus

From the North

Take Interstate 85 south out of Atlanta until it intersects with I-185 near LaGrange, Georgia. Interstate I-185 is the primary artery to Columbus from the north.

From the East

If you are traveling from I-75 or other points east of Columbus, Highway 80 from Macon or Highway 96 from Fort Valley will be your best routes. Both of these highways intersect Highway 85 and alternate 27, which will lead you to Columbus.

From the South

Columbus is bordered on the south by Fort Moore Military Reservation. Take Highway 520 from Albany until it passes through Fort Moore. At the intersection with Interstate I-185, exit north and continue to your desired Columbus exit.

From the West

From cities west of Columbus such as Dothan, Montgomery, and Birmingham, Alabama, Columbus is reached through Phenix City, Alabama. From Phenix City, take Highway 80 to the North Columbus By-pass. From the By-pass take Exit 4 to Interstate I-185 and travel south until you reach your desired Columbus exit.
