After Hours and Emergency Care

The Student Health Center does not have an emergency department. Students who become sick or injured when we are closed may seek medical attention at either the Urgent Care Clinics or one of the Emergency Rooms. Students are encouraged to keep their health insurance cards on them at all times.

For students living on campus, contact your Resident Assistant, or your Residence Life staff member in the event of an emergency.

For our students‘ convenience, Columbus State University has partnered with Piedmont Urgent Care to provide services to enrolled students who have paid the Health Services fee for the current semester. During our Main Campus Clinic hours, students should call our clinic first for appointment availability. Students must show their current Cougar ID to be covered under this agreement at Piedmont Urgent Care. An insurance card is not needed. If after clinic hours and an urgent matter, students may use this Urgent Care and notify our clinic the next business day.

(Please note that only Piedmont Urgent Care - Columbus Blackmon Road and Columbus Uptown-13th Street are under this agreement.)
