One of the proudest moments in my time at Columbus State University was during a Public Relations Management course where my student team partnered with the local Girls Inc. branch to support their rebranding efforts. Their campaign not only resulted in a new logo that the organization still uses almost three years later, but two of my students were also hired as a result of their work. Moments like these affirm the impact of experiential learning and remind me why I’m passionate about teaching in the Communication Department at CSU.

Tiffany McBride

Tiffany McBride

Professor of the Department of Communication

The amount of opportunities available through CSU’s communication department allowed me to test every avenue of interest, whether that be film, PR, Radio, or journalism. Through the practicum program I was able to land my first job at a local news station. Now I produce the morning news for Atlanta News First, the city’s CBS station, all thanks to the experience I got through CSU.

’23 BA in Communication and Film Production

My time at CSU and within the Communication Department provided me with a strong foundation in strategic communication, leadership, and relationship-building—skills that have been essential throughout my career. Now, as the Executive Director of the Columbus GA Convention and Trade Center and a Department Head for the City of Columbus, I apply these principles daily in managing large-scale events, fostering community engagement, and driving economic impact.
