About the Program

Theater students on stage practicing acting, directing and producing

The Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) in Theatre Education provides pre-service teachers a solid knowledge base emphasizing pedagogy, curriculum content, and assessment consistent with the national, state, and local standards and goals.

In the first two years, students complete studies that establish eligibility for admission to teacher education. This is followed by a sequence of campus and field-based courses culminating in the student teaching semester during the senior year.

There are two tracks for students to choose from: certification or non-certification.

Based on your chosen track, a BSEd in Theatre Education will prepare you for a wide range of careers including the following:

  • Set/Stage Designer

Certification Track

Study interpersonal, group, and rhetorical communication. With a concentration in communication studies, you'll be prepared for advanced study or for work in organizational communication, human resources, and community relations.

Share your creative vision with the world. With a $6 billion film industry, Georgia is the perfect place to study film production. Course topics include mass communication, screen-writing, video production, and more.
