Biography

Adam Doskey is an Archival Research Associate in the Columbus State University's Archives and Special Collections, where he started as an Archival Assistant in 2024. Previously, he was a rare books curator at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Kennesaw State University. He began his special collections career as a rare book cataloger at the University of Illinois, where he received his undergraduate degree in History and English Literature and a masters degree in Library Science.

Professional Experience

Adam has over two decades of experience working in academic libraries and has been working in special collections libraries since 2006, when he was hired as a rare book cataloger by the Mellon-funded cataloging project at the Rare Book & Manuscript Library, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He led the cataloging project there from 2011 to 2013 and then left for a curator position at Kennesaw State University. In 2015, he again returned to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as Curator of Rare Books and Manuscripts, a position which he held until 2021. In 2024, Adam started as an archival assistant in the Columbus State University Archives & Special Collections and has been Archival Research Associate there since May 2025.
