The Miss CSU Scholarship Program is a scholarship competition for Columbus State University. This is an official preliminary to the Miss Georgia and Miss America Scholarship Pageants.

The Miss CSU Scholarship Program is a dynamic educational program. It provides opportunities for young women to expand their quest for knowledge and acquire skills to better equip them for future opportunities. Most importantly, participants will have many occasions to develop their leadership skills, resulting in a greater sense of awareness of their potential.

The goal of the Miss CSU Program is to inspire accomplishments and motivate personal achievement in young women. This program aims to assist young women to reach their educational goals and dreams.

If selected as Miss CSU you will enjoy an exciting and a busy year of appearances and engagements. You will meet and interact with city and state officials, community leaders, and caring and giving volunteers who serve the Columbus community in a diligent and dedicated manner.

Fees:

We take pride in the fact that there is no entry fee required to be a contestant. Each Miss CSU contestant will need to provide wardrobe for the four phases of competition:

  • Interview
  • Opening Number
  • Talent
  • On-Stage Questioning
  • Evening Wear

Eligibility:

The program is open to currently enrolled female students at Columbus State University:

  • Completion of one full semester of courses is required
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Single, never married
  • United States citizen
  • Meet all criteria and be able to participate in the Miss Georgia Pageant, if selected as winner

The candidate selected for the responsibility of serving as Miss CSU must be available to serve as the official ambassador of Columbus State University during her year of service and be willing to make as many appearances, parades and events as possible. If the winner is a graduating senior, or in her final year of graduate school, she must be willing to continue representing CSU on campus and in the community for the full year of her service. As the Miss CSU Scholarship Program supports education, every effort will be made to accommodate her school schedule. She will also compete in the Miss Georgia Scholarship Pageant in the summer.

TIPS:

How to prepare for the interview: Be prepared to answer questions about yourself so that we can get to know you. Every contestant is required to have a platform and prepare a platform statement. If you don’t have one, we can help you. Contestants are also expected to remain up to date with current events. The board will set up mock interviews for all contestants prior to the pageant.

Have talent in mind: You will be expected to present a 90 second talent. Music needs to be on an MP3.

You do NOT have to spend a lot of money on wardrobe: Our judges care only about getting to know you, and seeing YOU shine through. Simply choose wardrobe pieces that make you feel good about yourself.
