Organizational Note

The Civil Defense movement was a response to the Cold War. It promoted the development of procedures to respond to potential nuclear war and other disasters.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of a letter from the Columbus-Muscogee County Civil Defense unit to the Columbus Woman's Reading Club inviting them to participate in a new Women's Civil Defense Committee and to attend an organizational meeting.
