Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity (MC 404)

Organizational Note

The mission of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.is to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. The local chapter, Delta Iota Lambda, was formed in the late 1940s in Columbus.

OBJECTIVES

• to stimulate the ambition of its members• to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual• to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood• to aid downtrodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic and intellectual status

Scope and Content

This small collection includes the programs of the Annual Unity Breakfasts that the group sponsors and various articles about the fraternity.

Permission to publish material from the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity must be obtained from the Columbus State University Archives at Columbus State University. Use of the following credit line for publication or exhibit is required:
