The Genealogical Society of East Alabama Collection (MC 370)

Organizational Note

Founded in 1963, the Genealogical Society of East Alabama is a non-profit corporation serving the 5 county area of east central Alabama: Chambers, Lee, Macon, Russell and Tallapoosa counties. Since 1963, the society has published the quarterly journal Tap Roots.

Scope and Content

Five yearbooks for the Society (1964-1970), one issue of Tap Roots, one issue of The Georgia Genealogical Society Quarterly (which includes an article on "Georgia's First Settlers").

Permission to Publish

Permission to publish material from The Genealogical Society of East Alabama Collection (MC 370) must be obtained from the Columbus State University Archives at Columbus State University. Use of the following credit line for publication or exhibit is required:
