Hardaway High School Band Collection (MC 347)

Historical Note

The 180 piece Hardaway High School band was selected to represent Georgia in a Bicentennial Band competition in June 14-17, 1976 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The director of the band was David Gregory. The band received $25,000 in state funds to finance its trip. The band played for an hour in the State Capitol after receiving the grant. The Symphonic Band also played at the annual conference for Instrumental Conductors in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in February 1976.
