Elizabeth H. Heuer Scrapbook (MC 266)

Biographical Note

Elizabeth Henry Heuer was born January 14, 1895. Her father was Augustus William Heuer, originally of Charleston, South Carolina (d. 1938) and Anne Eliza (Griggs) Heuer of Columbus, Georgia (d. April, 1913). Elizabeth Heuer married Carter Scott Jones (1891-1944) of Tampa, Florida sometime before 1920 . She died March 10, 1980 in Atlanta. Her father's name was also spelled Hehr in some instances.

Scope and Content

The scrapbook was started in 1899 for Elizabeth. The contents are pasted into an 1840s ledger book of an unidentified business. The items include family information, newspaper clippings about the Spanish-American War, political campaigns (both national and local), greeting cards, tintypes and photos, mostly of family members and inspirational clippings. 1899-1920s 1 vol.

Transferred to the CSU Archives from the Atlanta History Center. It was offered to the AHC by Rosemary Jones, perhaps by a daughter or granddaughter of Elizabeth Heuer Jones, 2008.
