Biography
Sam Renner, Senior Lecturer and Technical Director at Columbus State University, was born and raised in Southeast Missouri. He earned a BFA in Technical Theatre from University of Central Missouri and a MFA in Theatre Technology from University of Wisconsin - Madison.
At CSU since 2009, Sam has taught courses in Stagecraft, Scenic Painting, Drafting and Drawing, Fundamentals of Technical Theatre, Theatre Appreciation, and Stage Properties, as well as Theatre Practice (our hands-on production courses).
Before working at CSU, Sam has built, painted, and flown for the Springer Opera House, the Ohio Light Opera, the Moore Musical Arts Center, Bowling Green State University, and Central Missouri Repertory, among others. In his free time, Sam enjoys cooking and games.
