Biography
Dr. Tiffany McBride is a native of Columbus, Georgia. She is a product of the Department of Communication at Columbus State University, having graduated from the department and has taught in the department for the past 8 years. McBride has an extensive background in higher education, having worked as an academic advisor, career development specialist, assistant dean, and public relations specialist for various colleges and universities.
She has over 16 years of teaching experience from teaching high school English to teaching business courses, numerous public speaking and speech communication courses, and public relations and strategic communications. She believes that effective communication is important and strives to teach students the importance of strategic communication and effective public relations.
She received a bachelor‘s degree in Mass Communications and English from Columbus State University, a master‘s degree in Strategic Communications and Public Relations from Troy University, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a Ph.D. from Mercer University with a concentration in higher education leadership. Dr. McBride is an avid volunteer and supports her community at every chance she gets. Her volunteer commitments include the following: Vice President of the Urban League of the River Valley Young Professionals, Vice President of Membership for the Junior League of Columbus and board member with Girls Inc. of Columbus, GA. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Columbus Alumnae Chapter, Lamba Pi Eta Communication Honor Society and a member of the National Communication Association.
Her research interests focus on strategic communication practices of women in higher education leadership, and bridging the gap between communities and education through communication and PR. McBride strives to educate, inspire, motivate, and encourage those around her both in and out of the classroom.
