Biography
Soprano Casey Margerum (she/her/hers) is a performer and voice teacher currently based out of Atlanta, GA.
Casey's repertoire includes Alice (Falstaff), Madame Lidoine (Dialoghi delle Carmelitane), Catherine (Le Mariage aux Lanternes), Violetta* (La Traviata), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Don Ettore (La Canterina), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Annina (La Traviata), and Marie* (La Fille du Régiment). She is equally at home performing contemporary works, which include singing the role of the Guardian Angel in Bruce Trinkley’s Eve’s Odds and performing Rob Kapilow’s concert opera Green Eggs and Ham.
Casey performs frequently as a recitalist, most notably in the Decatur Fine Arts Academy Concert Series, and is passionate about performing works by underrepresented composers. She also collaborates frequently with composer Robert Cushing, recently performing his song cycle Afternoon on a Hill as well as singing the world premiere of “When I Met Him” from his musical Laura.
Casey teaches at the Schwob School of Music and at the Decatur Fine Arts Academy, and she is a regular guest clinician with the Decatur Avondale Children’s Choir. She is also the Director of Social Media & Advertising for FIO MONDO, a training program for emerging artists currently based in Urbania, Italy.
Casey received her Bachelor of Arts in Music and English in 2019 from Davidson College, where she studied with Ilana Lubitsch. She completed her Master of Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance in 2022 at Georgia State University under the tutelage of Kathryn Hartgrove.
When she’s not singing, Casey enjoys horseback riding, rock climbing, reading, and spending time with her tuxedo cat, Scout.
