Collaborative pianist Susan Hoskins joined the faculty of the Schwob School of Music,
Columbus State University, GA, in 2006. Ms. Hoskins received degrees in piano performance
from Auburn University and The University of Texas at Austin. Subsequently, while
a Rotary scholar in Salzburg, Austria, she was asked to join the faculty of the Mozarteum Conservatory of Music as a vocal coach. While in Europe, she collaborated with singers
and chamber musicians in recitals and opera competitions throughout Germany, Austria
and France. In addition to teaching Collaborative Piano, she has accompanied students
to regional and national titles through Music Teachers National Association and National
Association of Teachers of Singing, as well as to the Prague Spring International
Competition in 2008. She has served in recent years as collaborative pianist for the
American String Teachers Association competition, the Atlanta Horn Symposium, The
Carolyn Hove English Horn Masterclasses, the Southeast Trombone Symposium and the
43rd International Trombone Festival. In summers, she provides musical direction for the
Columbus Repertory Theater.
