Biography

Professor of Theatre and Costume Designer, has been a freelance costume designer and costume technician for over 35 years. He worked in several Broadway costume houses on such productions as Beauty and the BeastSunset Blvd.ShowboatCats, and Crazy for You, and on such films as HookBullets Over Broadway, and 101 Dalmatians. Among his costume design credits are productions for Burt Reynolds' Jupiter Theatre (FL), Jean Cocteau Repertory (NYC), Riverside Shakespeare Co. (NYC), New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, and 11 seasons at Texas Shakespeare Festival.

Steven arrived as an Instructor at Columbus State University in Fall 1996. During his tenure he has designed costumes for over 90 main stage productions. He has also directed and acted on the CSU stage. He has taught workshops in costuming and makeup at GTC, Georgia Thespian Conference, and Southeastern Theatre Conference. He graduated from Columbus College in 1984 with a BA in Theatre, so considers himself to have had the longest tenure in the department!
