Biography

John Finley is currently Associate Professor of International Business in the Turner College of Business & Technology at Columbus State University. He teaches international business and management, coordinates student internships and develops and directs several study abroad programs for business students (Brazil and Costa Rica).

Dr. Finley brings a solid blend of professional and academic experience to Columbus State University, especially suited for international business. He has international corporate experience working with TSYS (processor of bankcards) and liaising with MasterCard Europe (frequent international travel- Brussels, London, Lyon-France, Mexico City, Toronto). He has published in the areas of international business-to-business marketing of services, a business system analysis in emerging markets, and several case studies on small business/international franchising. In general, his research interests include international education impacts in business disciplines, strategies for bankcard usage in emerging markets, effects of Bankcard associations (MasterCard/Visa) on credit and debit card processing, corporate rivalries such as Airbus vs. Boeing and effects on international business/law. Dr. Finley is active in several campus-wide international committees and other international initiatives. Dr. Finley is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and has basic conversational ability in Italian and German.
