Biography

Dr. Ansley Felix, a native of Columbus, GA, earned her B.S. in Chemistry (2020) from Columbus State University. She then pursued graduate studies at Emory University, where she completed both her M.S. (2022) and Ph.D. in Chemistry (2024) under the advisement of Dr. Jennifer Heemstra and Dr. David Lynn. Her doctoral research focused on the characterization and engineering of Endonuclease V to better understand adenosine-to-inosine editing in RNA. During her graduate studies, Dr. Felix also worked as a part-time chemistry instructor at Kennesaw State University, further developing her passion for undergraduate education. Returning to Columbus State University was a long-time professional goal, and in Fall 2024, Dr. Felix joined the Department of Chemistry as a Lecturer where she now supports and mentors students throughout their academic journeys.
