Biography

Dr. Phil Bryant, Associate Professor of Management and Marketing at Columbus State University, earned his Ph.D. in Management at the University of Memphis. His primary research, teaching and consulting activities are concentrated around human resource management and servant leadership.

Dr. Bryant's research in managing employee turnover has won the Academy of Management Perspectives' Best Paper Award (2010) and the Academy of Management's Outstanding Practitioner-Oriented Publication Award (2011). His co-authored book, Managing Employee Turnover was published by Business Expert Press in 2012.

In 2014 he co-founded the Turner College's peer-reviewed journal, Servant Leadership: Theory & Practice (SLTP) with Steve Brown. He served as the Executive Editor of SLTP from 2014 to 2018 before handing the journal over to his Columbus State colleague, Dr. Kevin Hurt.

Currently, Dr. Bryant is the Editor in Chief for SAGE Publishing's Compensation & Benefits Review (CBR).
