Biography

James "Art" Beveridge, an adjunct with the TSYS School of Computer Science, is an instructional technologies and instructional design professional who worked in the field of distance education and technology in higher education for over 12 years. Prior to returning to education in 2010, Mr. Beveridge worked more than 20 years in the IT industry, working for State agencies, professional non-profit associations, and national corporations. Mr. Beveridge served 6 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, has taught as an 8th-grade Science teacher, and even worked for the Boy Scouts of America as a District Executive for 3 years. Mr. Beveridge holds certifications including CompTIA Security+, NRA Instructor for Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun, and USA Archery Level 2 Instructor. Mr. Beveridge has been an active volunteer in the community working with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Hunter Education program for more than 35 years. Mr. Beveridge holds an Associate of Arts degree in Education from Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, FL; a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle School Math/Science Education from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL; a Master of Education degree in Learning and Technology from Western Governors University online; and is currently working on his Dissertation towards earning his Doctor of Education degree from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA.
