Biography
Sofia Acosta serves as the Student Services Coordinator/Administrative Specialist for the Department of Teacher Education, Leadership, and Counseling at Columbus State University. With more than a decade of experience in higher education, she supports the department through administrative leadership, operational coordination, and service to faculty, staff, and students. She is passionate about creating efficient processes, strengthening collaboration, and fostering a welcoming environment where others can succeed.
As a military spouse, Sofia values adaptability, resilience, and building community wherever life leads. These experiences have shaped her commitment to serving others and supporting those around her with excellence and care. She holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Practical Ministries from Southeastern University.
Outside of work, Sofia enjoys spending time with her husband and their blended family of four children. She believes education has the power to transform lives and is honored to contribute to the success of the Columbus State community through thoughtful service and meaningful relationships.
