Turner College of Business & Technology Scholarship Application

National Association of Purchasing Managers Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
To provide student scholarships to students pursuing a course of study in the Turner College of Business. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Purchasing Manager’s Scholars.

Selection Process:
Must be pursuing a course of study in the Turner College of Business and be a resident of the Chattahoochee Valley.

Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

Award:
No award amount is set. If eligible, students may receive multiple years of awards.

The OmegaFi Comuputer Science Scholarship

Purpose of Fund:
The purpose of this Fund shall be to provide a scholarship(s) to eligible Computer Science student(s), as described in Section 9, within the Turner College of Business at Columbus State University. Recipients shall be known as OmegaFi Scholars.

Selection Process:
Recipients of scholarships awarded from this Fund shall be named by the Dean of the Turner College of Business or his/her designee, in consultation with the College’s Scholarship Committee

Be enrolled in the Turner College’s TSYS School of Computer Science as a junior or senior.

  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Participate in an internship with OmegaFi each year awarded (minimum 15 hours/week and maximum 20 hours/week).

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The COL (R) John E. Erickson and Cher Erickson Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for CSU students who are U.S. Military serving on active duty while pursuing full-time post graduate degrees through the Turner College of Business and Technology. Students serving in the active U.S. Military National Guard and U.S. Military Reserves may also be considered. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Erickson Scholars.

Selection Process:
Recipients of scholarships awarded from this Fund shall be named by the Dean of the Turner College of Business or his/her designee, in consultation with the College’s Scholarship Committee.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The Frederick J. Dodelin Accounting Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for students pursuing an accounting major at CSU. The scholarship should be awarded to a student(s) with a demonstrated financial need based on information provided to the University Office of Financial Aid. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Dodelin Scholars.

Selection Process:
Recipients of scholarships awarded from this Fund shall be named by the Dean of the Turner College of Business or his/her designee, in consultation with the College’s Scholarship Committee

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

TSYS Endowment for Excellence

Purpose of Fund:
Specific emphasis on mainframe computing, information technology and information systems to support student scholarships, supplement faculty salaries and researchers to travel to professional meetings (for faculty and students), specialized research publications, equipment, software, and other pertinent resources.

Selection Process:
When student scholarships are awarded in conjunction with this endowment they shall be known as the TSYS Cybersecurity Scholars.

The Scholarship committee in consultation with CSU’s financial aid office will determine each recipient selected.

Be enrolled in Turner College and be a major in the TSYS School of Computer Science. Criteria may include financial need and campus/community involvement.

GPA-min. 3.0

Each scholarship is for one academic year. Prior recipients are not disqualified from consideration for this scholarship during subsequent years.

In cases where it is determined that the recipient is ineligible for continuation of the scholarship, a replacement may be named. The procedure for naming a replacement recipient shall be the same as the original recipient.

Award:
Based on earnings and Dean’s discretion

The Georgia Power Foundation Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
The purpose of this fund is to provide an Endowment Fund to support eligible College of Letters and Sciences and Turner College of Business students.

Selection Process:
Recipients of scholarships awarded from this Fund shall be named by the Dean of the Turner College of Business or his/her designee, in consultation with the College’s Scholarship Committee Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time and must be majoring in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field or a program within the Turner College of Business. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Georgia Power Scholars.

Scholarship recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and exhibit a financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Preference may be given to students who are/have matriculated from Columbus Technical College.

Each scholarship is for one academic year. Prior recipients are not disqualified from consideration for this scholarship during subsequent years.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

Judge John S. Averill Memorial Fellowship

Purpose of Fund:
To provide student scholarships to: Graduate Students in Business, Arts and Sciences and Education. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Judge John S. Averill Scholars.

Selection Process for Business:
Must be a CSU graduate student accepted in the MBA program based on high promise of academic success or outstanding academic achievement.

Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3

Award:
The award of $2,000 max per student

The Crowley Foundation Fund Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund: To support qualified students enrolled in undergraduate business majors enrolled in the Turner College at Columbus State University. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Crowley Scholars.

Selection Process: Be enrolled in the Turner College

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The Robinson, Grimes & Company Accounting Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships for students pursuing an accounting major at CSU. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Robinson Grimes Scholars.

Selection Process:
The student scholarship recipient(s) shall be named by the Dean of the Turner College of Business in consultation with the scholarship selection committee of the Turner College.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

Dr. Shawn T. & Daria A. Cruzen Business Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
The purpose of the Fund is to provide an endowment to support scholarships for students pursuing specific majors in the Turner College of Business at Columbus State University.

Funds may be used to cover tuition and other costs of attendance established by the university for the student’s enrollment while fulfilling degree requirements. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Cruzen Scholars.

Selection Process:
Recipients of scholarships awarded from the Fund shall be named by the Dean of the Columbus State University Turner College of Business, in consultation with the College Scholarship Committee.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The William R. and Olivia C. Blanchard Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
To support qualified students enrolled within Turner College at Columbus State University. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Blanchard Scholars.

Selection Process:
Be enrolled in the Turner College

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Preference will be given to students enrolled in a business or a computer science program with a cybersecurity emphasis. Within this group, preference may be given to current employees of Columbus Bank and Trust Company and their immediate family members.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The Howell Hollis Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
To support qualified students enrolled within Turner College at Columbus State University. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Hollis Scholars.

Selection Process:
Be enrolled in the Turner College

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Demonstrate financial need as verified by the Office of Financial Aid

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The Linda U. Hadley Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
The purpose of this endowment is to provide undergraduate scholarships and/or graduate assistantships to students pursuing a course of study at Turner College. Recipients will be known as Hadley Scholars.

Selection Process:
Be enrolled in the Turner College

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The Kevin David Knopf Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
The purpose of this fund is to recruit high achieving and high potential students into our undergraduate accounting program within the Turner College of Business.

Selection Process:
The student scholarship recipient(s) shall be named by the Dean of the Turner College of Business in consultation with the scholarship selection committee of the Turner College.

Enrolled in an accounting degree program within the Turner College of Business

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 Scale

Preference may be given to student residents of the Chattahoochee Valley region (AL & GA).

Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Knopf Scholars.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The Jay and Kellie Alexander Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
The fund will provide scholarships that are to be used to recruit high achieving and high potential students into undergraduate business programs within the Turner College of Business. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Alexander Scholars.

Selection Process:
The student scholarship recipient(s) shall be named by the Dean of the Turner College of Business in consultation with the scholarship selection committee of the Turner College.

Enrolled in Turner College of Business

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 Scale

Preference may be given to current students who are current employees or family members of current Alexander employees.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

The Richard L. Holmes’ Alpha Phi Alpha Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund:
This fund will be used to support eligible African American students enrolled in the Turner College of Business. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as Richard L. Holmes’ Scholars.

Selection Process:
The student scholarship recipient(s) shall be named by the Dean of the Turner College of Business in consultation with the scholarship selection committee of the Turner College.

Enrolled in the Turner College of Business

Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 Scale

Preference may be given to current students who are active members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, then to any African American student that meets the above criteria.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).

W. L. Amos, Sr. Scholarship Endowment

Purpose of Fund: To provide student scholarships to students pursuing a course of study with a concentration in Business. Recipients of this scholarship shall be known as W.L. Amos, Sr Scholars.

Selection Process: Must be a CSU student in a business major, with at least half of current course hours earned from CSU. Also, involvement in civic/international activities and/or working.

More weight is given to students who have completed courses beyond the Area F business core and have civic involvement or working full-time carries more weight than someone not involved in anything other than classes.

Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5

Award:
The award of $1,000 max per student per year. If eligible students may receive multiple years of awards.

The Regina Jankiewitz Memorial Scholarship

Purpose of Fund:
To provide student scholarships to Turner College of Business students majoring in Business.

Selection Process:
Must be a CSU student with one year of study in TCOB and 3.3 minimum GPA

Award:
The award of $2,000 max per student per year. If eligible students may receive multiple years of awards.

The Friends of Business Scholarship

Purpose of Fund:
To provide student scholarships to Turner College of Business students majoring in Business. The recipient will be known as a Friends of Business Scholar.

Selection Process:
Must be a Turner College of Business student.

Award:
The number and amount of scholarships to be awarded shall be determined by the Dean or the Dean’s designee (scholarship committee).
