April 7, 2020 - Message from President Markwood
I appreciate your creativity and support as we continue to manage this daily evolving COVID-19 pandemic at CSU and in our homes.
Our students are dealing with great uncertainty, and many likely feel a sense of disconnection to their normal day to day schedules, education, and CSU resources. We have created a new project as part of our Create Care team to reach out to our students and proactively connect them to the support services that are available.
The overall goal of this effort is to reassure our students that we care about their well-being and success. The Create Care outreach team will focus on establishing new, or building on existing, mentoring/resource connections for each student with a person on campus. Students will have a personal connection through phone calls and virtual means to ask for assistance. This will increase the awareness of the availability of the Create Care Network, particularly the Create Care Reports/Referrals as a way to connect to a variety of resources and assistance during this time and in the future.
Please continue to check our webpage for updates: https://www.columbusstate.edu/covid-response/.
Please know that as disconnected as you might feel, our commitment to the health, wellbeing, and safety of our campus community has not changed. Our team is facing this challenge with inspiring, compassionate, and innovative leadership to educate our students, protect our campus community and support each other.
Thank you for all you do for our students, our community, and each other.
President Chris Markwood
