As we continue to manage through the potential impact of the coronavirus on our campus community, I want to take a moment to reiterate the recent messages we have shared with you to keep you informed on the preventive measures we are taking to help keep our students, faculty, staff, and community safe.
Since Friday, we communicated the following updates that are all posted on our webpage: https://www.columbusstate.edu/covid-response/:
- March 13, Communication on Instruction
- March 14, HR & Payroll Guidance
- March 15, Resident Life Update
- March 15, Campus/Facilities Access Restrictions
Please take a moment and read these messages and refer to them as needed.
As of this writing, Columbus State University does not have any confirmed cases of coronavirus.
Please take care of yourselves while you are away from campus and be mindful of the various safety measures you should take to avoid and prevent illness. Social distancing is strongly advised and we have made significant efforts to reduce the number of people on campus.
We will keep in touch with you via email, social channels, and on the resource page at https://www.columbusstate.edu/covid-response/ as the situation changes and additional decisions are made. Contact Chip Reese if you have any questions, firstname.lastname@example.org.
I appreciate your patience and teamwork as we manage through this constantly changing environment. As you know, we are working closely with the University System of Georgia staff and other state and local officials.
Please be prepared for additional announcements as this situation is still very fluid and unfolding. Throughout this challenging time, I am thankful for the amazing work and creative approaches our CSU team is producing. I am confident that our team is doing its best to ensure our campus is safe for our students, faculty, and staff, as we continue to minimize the disruptions to our learning environment.
Thank you for all you do for our students, our community, and each other.
President Chris Markwood
