March 15, 2020 - Residence Life Updates

Please be advised that Columbus State University is supporting the guidance of the University System of Georgia and the CDC to support practices that promote the concept of social distancing during the COVID-19 Pandemic. As such, effective immediately, all events, travel, and activities associated with Residence Life planned through March 29, 2020 have been canceled.

Residence Life will continue to staff the front desks in each housing area 24/7 and will continue normal business operations.
Visitors: From March 14-29 residents will not be permitted to host guests at any time in the Residence Halls, with the exception of parents or guardians.
Food Service: Dining options will be available on Main Campus in the Cafe on Saturday and Sunday 10:00am-2:00pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm. Below is the dining schedule beginning March 16.
Transportation: Holiday Shuttle Schedule beginning Saturday March 14 until Monday March 30
Maintenance Requests: Requests will be monitored and will be addressed as normal. Please continue to submit these requests via the Housing Portal.
Campus Mail: All residents will continue to receive mail as normal.
Occupancy/Health and Safety Checks: Beginning next week, Residence Life Staff will be entering apartments to be sure there are no safety concerns while students are away. This will include setting thermostats between 68-72 degrees, checking for fire hazards, and removing excessive trash to avoid pests.
