On January 1, 2011 Columbus State University became smoke-free, after almost a year of discussion and input from a variety of groups around campus.
This decision followed a trend at universities and colleges across the country that want to create a healthy working and learning environment for all members of campus. The intent of this policy is to create an environment that is welcoming for all people, not to eliminate individual freedoms, which is why smoking will still be allowed in designated places on the outskirts of campus.
Please help us make Columbus State University a place where anyone would want to live, learn and visit.
